Josie Maine Coon Adult - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Sarasota, Florida

Be the Change took responsibility for a situation that would have been handled by Animal services. They would have euthanized all 15 , most likely. A woman died who rented her home out to someone who called BTC after calling other shelters (no one else helped the cats). These cats were part of a trap/neuter/release program. Seven years ago, the lady who died helped this bunch of kitties by putting an inside/outside door in her home, vetting them all, and feeding them. After she died, the tenant continued to feed and care for them until her heir started eviction proceedings and wanted this person to have animal services come in and take the cats. We took in eight. These were the friendlies, the others were not tame enough to re-home. We found someone else to feed them on her street and we have been working on vetting and care for the eight.. Charlotte is the prettiest of the bunch, but she is bonded with Watchdog. We are trying to find the right homes for these much-deserving kitties. They are in a foster situation where we have been able to observe them carefully to see what their needs are. We have provided dentals for several with bad teeth, vetted all and now these kitties are cleaned up and ready for their forever homes. This group is tightly bonded with each other, all are siblings or related in some way. The group consists of Charlotte, Watchdog, Whisper, Sara, Howard, Beasley (would be great as an only child), Josie and Giselle. This is a situation where we are trying to find people who want to help animals, This group is very special, You give them the love and they will give it back tenfold!

Josie is self-contained, very peaceful, settled, gentle and loving. She appears to leave the group frequently and we think she will do very well without the 'gang'. I wonder if she is the mother of he entire litter? We will never know.
